BIOGRAPHY

A self-taught guitarist since the age of nine, Aaron Morales got his official start in the music business at fifteen. While performing with bands in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, Morales was also employed as a studio engineer, working with various major and independent recording artists. Morales' career as a recording artist began with the formation of sleaze rock quartet Simply Slang in 2002.

During his stint with Simply Slang, Morales served as the band's lead singer, guitarist and songwriter, and recorded two releases with the band: the self-titled EP, Simply Slang [2004], and the follow-up LP, Bad Attitude [2006]. Simply Slang achieved early success on the Australian website MP3.com.au, with the band charting at #1 on the Heavy Rock Artist Charts, as well as claiming the top position on the Heavy Rock Album Charts in 2004.

In 2007, Morales disbanded Simply Slang to pursue a solo career. At this time, he contributed a track to the Hollywood-based Demon Doll Records' Glamnation Vol. 2 compilation album. Morales' song "I'd Give It All (To Make Her Mine)”, received airplay and positive reviews from around the globe. Also during this period, Morales was the recipient of the Track of the Day Award on GarageBand.com for his song, “My First Love.”

By 2008, Morales conceived a new project, Blackie Wilcox, which recorded a five song EP, Such A Shame. "I'd Give It All (To Make Her Mine)" was released for digital distribution on December 29, 2009.

The following year, Morales went back to the basics, releasing the punk-influenced EP, Independence! [2010], and spent the rest of the year playing shows with his all-new backing band. The new release and subsequent tour dates garnered much attention, and as a result, Morales was featured on several television shows, culminating in an invitation to perform on NBC's America's Got Talent.

Early in 2011, Morales returned to the studio to record his latest single, "Everything Will Be Alright", which upon its release in May, became a #1 bestselling download, and was listed #2 on Juno Download's Rock/Indie Recommendations Chart for June 2011.

Currently supporting his most recent single, Morales shows no signs of slowing down on his journey to rock & roll platinum and gold.
